Archaeology is the study of the primitive era of humankind. It is the study of the human cultures through various methods that include field study i.e. surveyance and excavation and laboratory analysis of the materials recovered from the past. The materials may include documents, landscapes, fossils, bifocals, and artifacts. The goal of these studies may differ. Sometimes, the study is done to determine the age of a particular artifact, site or a part of a site. At other times, it aims at studying the history of human culture, its evolution and the ecology of the prehistoric societies. Archaeologist use different methods and techniques to study the history of the earth. Here, we shall discuss the common methods and techniques.

Methods of Archaeology

Survey – This is the most common way to begin an archaeological project. An archaeologist will systematically locate a region where he would carry out the survey. The survey method was not used before, Earlier; researchers would excavate the plainly visible features at monumental sites. However, modern day researchers use different survey methods like surface survey, aerial survey, geophysical survey and regional survey. Under surface survey, the land is first surveyed based on the settlement patterns and structures of the ancient civilization. The researchers try to gather information about primitive cultures and use mini-excavation methods. Some of the mini-excavation techniques include augers, corers and shovel test pits. Aerial survey is conducted by using cameras attached to airplanes and balloons. Techniques like infrared wavelengths, radar technology and thermographs are also used for aerial survey. There are several textbooks on archaeology that help in understanding the survey methods, in detail.

Excavation – Excavation often leads to ethical issues since it may lead to destruction of the site. In order to reduce the damage, researchers use sampling methods before excavating a site. However, this is the only method of physically acquiring primitive remains.

Analysis – Laboratory analysis is the next step after the artifacts or remains have been collected through survey or excavation. It is the most time consuming and it may take years before a report on the archaeological evidence is published by researchers. However, an analysis of the remains gives a great insight into the past.

Virtual Archaeology – This method was invented in 1995 wherein computer graphics and 3D models began to get used for further study. Normal photographs may be used to build 3D models and create a virtual world of the past. Computer stimulation was used to recreate the environment for a better understanding.

Apart from these methods of studying evidence, it is important to identify the dates. Researchers may use different techniques to determine the age of the archaeological evidence. The following two techniques are commonly used.

Relative Dating – This technique will not provide an exact date; it will only give an idea about whether the evidence is older than the other evidence or younger.

Absolute Dating – This technique provides the exact dates of the evidence well into the 20th century. There are several handbooks on this subject. If you are an enthusiast and love history, reading a book on archaeology will make a lot of difference.

A plague has swept across our land, most of the time its been in the shadows for generations and set upon us many situations that has fouled the earth ever since man has walked upon it. It’s being lead by four evil monsters that have been corrupted and enslaved by the master. This plague has cast its tentacles from sea to sea through towns and cities large and small, sparing no one.

Almost no location has proven remote enough to escape its reach and it has visited death, illness and suffering on young and old alike. The plague is Bad health. Its master is greed. It’s been lead by four evil monsters who have been corrupted and perverted into servants of greed who spread the plaque on our food, our medicine, our industry and our government.

The effects of this evil plaque can be measured in terms of the dollars and the lives it cruelly affects. Billions of dollars annually is ill gained profits at the expense of deaths that run into the hundreds of thousand and suffering that affects millions. Throughout history, there have been men who have existed whose greed and lust for wealth and power has driven them to put their own selfish interest above those of humanity itself.

Such greed has been behind most of the evils in the history of mankind aid caused un-told suffering. Today the very health of modern man itself is under attach by the greedy elite who trade profits for the ability of their fellow man and woman to enjoy good health and live long and enjoyable lives.

Ever since the 1800’s there have been those who place personal gain and wealth above health and humanity have corrupted the four most important cornerstones that should be our shining benefactors and guarantors of providing mankind with good, nutritious food to eat, air to breath and water to drink: our food supply, our medicines, our industry and our government.

Here then are the four fallen cornerstones of health and a brief overview of how greed has turned them from providers and protectors of our health into servants that provide profits at the expense of health and humanity.

Food

Our soils have been depleted, our food crops have been genetically engineered to produce higher yields and more bulk with less nutrition and to withstand more pesticides, herbicides and artificial fertilizers that ensure higher profits at the cost of multitudes of health problems for those who consume them.

Medicine

For 6000 years, mankind used nature as the primary means of preventing and controlling illness. In the early 1900’s there were more natural health and homeopathic practitioners and as many alternative medical schools as there were “germ theory” doctors and universities.

But the natural and homeopathic practitioners and schools were persecuted and prosecuted into virtual extinction after the rich and powerful Rockefellers and Carnegies teamed with the American Medical Society to make germ theory medicine the only acceptable form of medicine. They increased profits by weeding out competition by means fair or foul.

Industry

Since the beginning of the industrial age and the coal burning plants, every year an increasing amount of literally thousands of metric tons of chemical pollutants, including carcinogens and thousands of other toxic chemicals and compounds such as mercury, lead, PEP, arsenic etc; has escaped into the environment. And industries resist testing and government doesn’t exercise any authority to solve it.

Government

The government should be the protector of the health and well being of it’s citizens, but the influence and money of the greedy have corrupted it to a government of the corporation which gives mostly lip service to actually serving it’s citizens first and foremost. The United States of America was founded as a constitutional republic to protect and insure the unalienable rights of every citizen to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Thanks to the relentless pursuit of wealth and power, and the use of that wealth and power to buy votes and influence, our government has become a top down corruption that our founding fathers would surely rise up against in renewed revolt.

In the words of the last FDA commissioner to stand up for the safety of the citizens and resist the lobbying and pressure of Big Pharma, here’s what he said, “the FDA protects the big drug companies and are subsequently rewarded, and using the government’s police powers they attach those who threaten the big drug companies.” He goes on to say, “People think the FDA is protecting them. It isn’t. What the FDA is doing and what the public thinks it is doing are as different as night and day.” Those are the comments of Dr. Herbert Ley.

Sonny grew up in a family that owned a local florist business that lasted for 63 years. For 29 years he was personally involved in the business.

Eventually becoming dissatisfied at the age of 44 years with it, he left to become a sales representative and spent more than 20 years in sales roles.

After retirement Sonny became heavily involved in developing an Internet business.
